The Mongomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency and acts as the enforcement arm of the Montgomery County courts. All deputy sheriffs are fully certified law enforcement officials with full authority of arrest.[1]

The duties of the MCSO are as follows[2]:
Nationally accredited in 1995, the current Sheriff is Darren M. Popkin. The MCSO has authorized over 165 employees consisting of sworn law enforcement officers and civilian support staff.[3]
Created in 1777, the MCSO is the oldest law enforcement agency in Montgomery County.[4]
